Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was last revised on May 26, 2026.

General

At Daily Dove, we care about your personal information, so we have prepared this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, and share it. This Privacy Policy applies to Daily Dove's mobile app, website at https://dailydove.app, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree with Daily Dove's collection, use, and sharing of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Beyond this Privacy Policy, your use of the Service is also subject to our Terms of Service.

Daily Dove is intended for use by adults 18 years of age or older; the Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. See "Children" below.

Please note that Daily Dove is constantly testing and improving our product features. Any features discussed in this Privacy Policy may not be available to all users.

Important. Daily Dove is provided "as-is" and exists solely for informational and devotional purposes. Daily Dove offers Scripture-based encouragement and AI-generated content, but the Service does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or pastoral counseling. Reliance on the content provided by Daily Dove is at your own risk. In urgent or emergency situations, call 9-1-1; if you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, call or text 9-8-8 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

The Dove Is Not a Religious or Spiritual Authority. The Dove is an AI character, not a religious or spiritual authority. Responses are generated by machine-learning models based on probabilistic reasoning, and may not accurately reflect the teachings of any particular denomination, religious tradition, or doctrinal authority. Responses should not be relied upon as theological guidance, divine communication, or a substitute for clergy, pastoral counseling, or prayer in community with people of faith.

Spiritual Distress. Some users may experience spiritual distress, religious doubt, or related discomfort when reflecting on faith. If you experience persistent spiritual distress, please consult clergy, a licensed mental-health professional, or another trusted advisor. The Service is not a substitute for any of these.

Information We Collect

When you use the Service, Daily Dove may collect the following personal information about you.

a. Account Registration

You register for a Daily Dove account using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. When you register, your authentication provider shares with us the basic profile information returned by that provider, which typically includes your name (or display name) and your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, Apple provides a private-relay email address instead of your real one. Daily Dove does not collect or store passwords for your account.

During onboarding you also provide your year of birth. We use this only to verify that you are 18 years of age or older — users under 18 are blocked from completing onboarding.

You can manage your Daily Dove account from Settings within the app.

b. Profile Information

After you register, a profile is created for you. Your profile is populated by information you submit, such as the name you'd like the Dove to call you, the name you give the Dove, your gender, the voice and look you choose for the Dove, your prayer topics and preferences, your devotional progress and streak, and your year of birth.

Your profile is private. It is not visible to other Daily Dove users, and Daily Dove does not have a social, follower, or friends system. We do not display your activity to other users, and other users cannot search for or contact you through the Service.

c. AI Features & Voice Call

Daily Dove uses Artificial Intelligence ("AI") to generate the responses of the "Dove" character, to personalize your devotional content, and to tailor your prayer experience based on your prayer topics, progress, and prior sessions.

Daily Dove offers a Voice Call feature where you can have an AI-powered spoken conversation with the Dove. When you interact with Voice Call or other AI-enabled features, the text and audio you submit are streamed to third-party AI vendors that provide speech-to-text, language-model inference, text-to-speech, and real-time voice transport. Daily Dove's agreements with these AI vendors require that they are not permitted to use your text or audio to train their own AI models, and they retain this information only briefly (typically up to 30 days) for misuse monitoring before deleting it.

We do not retain a recording of your audio after your session. Daily Dove may generate, store, and use text transcripts and brief summaries of your sessions to provide continuity and personalization ("memory") across future conversations and to improve the Service. We may also use de-identified or anonymized transcripts to improve our own AI features (see "De-identified and Anonymous Data" below).

Daily Dove does not create a voiceprint or other biometric identifier from your audio, and we do not use your voice to identify you.

Please do not submit personal, sensitive, or confidential information that is not relevant to your prayer or devotional use when using Voice Call or other AI features.

d. Speaking Activities

To recognize speech, your audio is sent to the AI vendors described above. You may end any Voice Call at any time. You may also choose to interact with the Dove through text instead of voice. We will not use your audio recordings to develop any voice-cloning technology.

e. Activity Data & IP Addresses

When you use the Service, we may generate data about your use of the Service, including browser and device data (operating-system version, app version, device model, general device type), log files, and IP address. We will also generate data regarding your engagement with the Service, such as the features you use, the content you view, and the dates and times of your visits.

We use your IP address for security, fraud prevention, and delivering the Service, and not to determine your precise location. We retain your IP address for no more than thirty (30) days, unless exceptional circumstances require longer retention (such as an ongoing fraud or security investigation).

If you purchase a Daily Dove subscription, payment is processed entirely by Apple through the Apple App Store; Daily Dove does not receive or store your payment-card information. Apple shares with us only the subscription-status information (such as whether your subscription is active, in a trial period, or canceled) necessary to determine your access level.

f. Communications and Content Reports

If you communicate with us — by email, through the in-app "Report a concern" feature, or through customer support — we collect your contact information and the contents of any messages you send. The in-app "Report a concern" feature collects the category of concern you select, any details you provide, and your account identifier so we can review and act on the report.

g. Cookies

When you access the Daily Dove website, we store certain data from your browser using cookies that are necessary for the website's basic functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising or for tracking you across other apps or websites, and the Daily Dove website does not use targeting or advertising cookies. Most browsers allow you to deny or accept cookies; however, denying cookies may prevent certain website features from working.

How We Process Your Information

Daily Dove processes your personal information to provide the Service, for our legitimate business interests, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent. In particular:

a. Providing and Improving the Service

Daily Dove will process your personal information to provide and improve the Service. For example, we will use your information to maintain your account and devotional progress, generate the Dove's responses, personalize devotional content, detect and fix bugs, perform internal research, and provide customer service.

Daily Dove may share personal information with third parties that help us provide or improve the Service, including:

These service providers are contractually limited to processing your data on our behalf and for the purposes of providing the Service.

b. Communicating with You

Daily Dove will use the email address you provided (or, if you used Sign in with Apple's private email relay, the relay address that Apple forwards through) to send you:

You may opt out of receiving non-essential messages within the app Settings or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any non-essential email. Essential messages (such as account or security notices) will continue.

c. Complying with Law and Preventing Harmful Activities

Daily Dove may process and share personal information if necessary to comply with legal requests, such as subpoenas or court orders. Daily Dove may share personal information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity, to assist law enforcement, or to prevent imminent harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents, or government agencies.

d. Personalized Advertising

Daily Dove does not currently engage in personalized advertising, cross-app behavioral advertising, or sharing of your personal information with advertising networks. Our analytics and subscription-management tools are first-party and are not configured to share your data with advertising networks. We do not "sell" or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA").

e. Sensitive Data

Some of the personal information we collect — including your prayer topics, the contents of your conversations with the Dove, and information you share through Voice Call — may reveal your religious or philosophical beliefs and may relate to your mental or physical health or wellbeing. This information is treated as "sensitive" or "special category" personal information under certain U.S. state laws.

We process this sensitive data only with your express consent (which you provide when you sign in to the Service), and only to provide the Service, generate the Dove's responses, maintain security and integrity, comply with the law, and for the other purposes described in this Policy. You may withdraw your consent by emailing [email protected], but please note that without your express consent we may not be able to provide you with the Service.

f. De-identified and Anonymous Data

Daily Dove may anonymize or de-identify your personal information, and use this data for any purpose, such as better understanding devotional trends, improving content, and training and improving Daily Dove's own AI features. Such information is not considered personal information since it cannot identify any individual.

Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you, in addition to any other rights required by applicable law (subject to verification of your identity and exceptions provided by law):

You may update or correct your information and exercise certain opt-out controls within Settings inside the app. You may delete your account from Settings → Account, which will cascade-delete your account information including your prayer activity and any conversation transcripts retained for "memory."

To make another privacy-related request, please send an email to [email protected]. Daily Dove will respond to your request without undue delay, and in all cases within forty-five (45) calendar days of receipt. The response period may be extended once by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, and we will inform you of any such extension within the initial 45-day period together with the reason. If Daily Dove declines to take action regarding your request, we will inform you within 45 days of the justification, and provide instructions for how to appeal. Appeals may be sent to [email protected]; we will inform you in writing of any action taken in response within 60 days. If your appeal is denied, we will provide you a method through which you can contact the Attorney General in your state to submit a complaint.

Please note that these rights are not absolute and Daily Dove may refuse a request if there is a legitimate reason — for example, if we cannot authenticate your identity, if the request would violate the rights of a third party or applicable law, or if it would interfere with the Service.

Consumer Health Data

This section provides additional disclosures for residents of Washington, Nevada, Connecticut, and other U.S. states with consumer-health-data laws (such as the Washington My Health My Data Act). Because you may share information through the Service that relates to your mental or physical health or wellbeing — for example, when you select prayer topics or describe what you are praying about — some of the Personal Information we collect may be considered "consumer health data" under these laws.

What we collect and why. The consumer health data we may collect includes the prayer topics you select and the contents of your conversations with the Dove to the extent they relate to your health or wellbeing. We collect and use this data to provide and personalize the Service, to generate the Dove's responses, and for the other purposes described in this Policy, in each case consistent with your express consent.

How we share it. We may disclose consumer health data to service providers and vendors who process it on our behalf and under contract (such as providers of infrastructure, voice processing, and security) solely to provide the Service. We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share or disclose consumer health data for behavioral advertising or to enrich an advertising profile. We will not disclose your consumer health data except with your consent, to a processor acting on our behalf, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

Your rights. You have the right to confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling your consumer health data and to access that data; the right to withdraw your consent to its collection and sharing; and the right to request that we delete it. You may exercise these rights by emailing [email protected]. We will verify your request before responding. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and if you have concerns about the outcome you may contact the attorney general in your state.

Data Retention

To ensure your account stays operational, Daily Dove will generally retain your personal information until your account is deleted. However, Daily Dove may retain certain information longer if necessary to provide the Service, defend our legitimate interests or those of third parties, comply with legal requirements, resolve or defend ourselves in disputes, investigate misuse or disruption of the Service, or perform agreements. We may also retain anonymous data indefinitely.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information — including your account details, prayer activity, and the conversation transcripts and summaries used for "memory" — within a commercially reasonable period (generally within 90 days), except where we are required or permitted by law to retain certain information (for example, for tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes).

Children

The Service is intended only for adults aged 18 and older. Daily Dove is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18 years of age. We enforce this age requirement during onboarding via a date-of-birth check that blocks anyone under 18 from completing sign-up. If you learn that someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, please alert us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete it.

Do Not Track

The Service is not designed to respond to "do not track" signals sent by some browsers.

Links to Third-Party Websites

The Service may contain links to other websites. Daily Dove is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites, including any personal or financial information collected by third-party payment processors. We encourage users to be aware of the privacy policies of other websites they visit. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by Daily Dove. Any time you click on a link or submit your personal information to a third-party website, you will be subject to that third party's privacy policies.

Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make material changes, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, by emailing you at the last email address you provided us, by posting notice within the Service, or by other means consistent with applicable law — and will take additional steps as required by applicable law. We will indicate the date this Policy was last revised at the top and bottom of this page. If permitted by law, your continued use of the Service after the Policy has been updated indicates your acceptance of the changes.

Where We Process Your Information

Daily Dove is based in the United States and processes data in the United States. The Service is intended for users in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand and consent that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States in connection with operating the Service and fulfilling your requests, and that United States data-protection and privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
